A Proper Spring Day Out
136 kma full spring day on the road
The first really good spring day of 2023, blue skies and dry roads, and the Honda CRF300L out for a full day's loop into mid-Wales β about 85 miles, out one way and home another. Like the rest of the season opener it was bikes everywhere (the camera counted well over a hundred coming the other way), with villages, market towns and miles of open road in between. No GPS on this one, so the map's reconstructed from the footage. Tap a thumbnail to ride along.
A spring day, April 2023
Shropshire β mid-Wales day loop β home
Out under a hard blue sky and straight into the spring-Saturday rush of riders β nods and waves the whole way, a steady stream of oncoming bikes and a good few overtakes where the road opened up. Through stone villages and a busy little market town (people out on the pavements, traffic to filter), then back onto the empty stuff β long open roads under big skies, the kind of mid-Wales tarmac that makes the season worth waiting for.
A break in the middle of the day, then the long way home through more villages and valleys as the afternoon stretched out. A proper full day on the little Honda.
No GPS logged this one, so the exact roads are inferred from what's on camera β if you know these lanes and I've drawn it wrong, tell me and I'll fix the line.
