A Summer Morning on the Welsh Roads
105 kma summer morning on the road
A warm summer morning, blue skies and bone-dry roads, and the Honda CRF300L out for a quick loop into mid-Wales — about 65 miles, out one way and home another. Peak biking season, so plenty of oncoming riders the whole way, a good run of overtakes, and a string of villages in the sun. No GPS on this one, so the map's reconstructed from the footage. A summer morning, June 2023
Shropshire → mid-Wales loop → home
Out under a proper summer sky, everything green and the roads quiet bar the steady stream of bikes coming the other way. A handful of overtakes where it opened up, through sunlit stone villages, and (you take the rough with the smooth) an emergency vehicle to make room for along the way.
Big skies, warm tarmac, the little Honda singing along — the kind of easy summer morning that doesn't need to be epic to be worth it.
No GPS logged this one, so the exact roads are inferred from what's on camera — if you know these lanes and I've drawn it wrong, tell me and I'll fix the line.
